Superb craftsmanship and inspired Mexican design makes this vintage Taxco set nothing short of sensational.<br>I am not a gemologist but I have been around beautiful handcrafted vintage/ antique jewelry for 40+ years and this set is so perfectly made and my educated guess is carnelian or possibly red jasper for the stones<br>The boldly framed oval necklace features a rich reddish-brown highly polished stone. Pretty swirls on top of the setting allow for a nice sized bale to be attached. The chain appears to be original and is a generous dense link style( Byzantine-ish).<br>The earrings are for pierced ears. The polished and engineered stones are fan shaped and dangle from square cut stones.<br>Condition is mint. I doubt that this set was ever worn, but it has been around a long time.<br>Stamped Mexico.
