1.  "Pile-up correction" should be off.
2.  "Noise discriminator" should be set a bit above the noise: You should find such a level which makes a few CPM from the test source.
3.  After the "Noise discriminator" is correct, put check source on the sensor and get two spectrums: with "Invert input" set, and without. Proper "Invert input" is when the spectrum is wider.
If Atom Spectra seems not alive, find it in the list of the apps intalled and give it permissions for the Mic and recording!
Rad Meter has such a list and you can choose 2xBPW34.
Windows apps have a lot of recommendations in the Internet on how to connect a spectrometer, so there should not be any problems.
