Joyfolie began as a small, handmade shop not too long ago. Almost from the very first pair, the shoes (then children's booties) gathered national press, celebrity purchases, and orders larger than any handmade business could fill. Since then, we have taken all the passion and careful details of our handmade products and turned them into a collection of more durable shoes with unique designs and packaging.
Joyfolie (pronounced "joyfully") is a play on words; "folie" is the French word for frenzy/madness. This is inspired from a quote by Pedro Calderon. "Love without madness is not love" because when we love, we do it with a joyful excess, a beautiful irrationality. A portion of every sale is given to Giving Children Hope, a charitable organization dedicated to alleviating poverty.
We hope that you will find our shoe boxes reusable: perhaps to house little love notes, treasured trinkets, or even for artful storage for the shoes themselves.
