DESIGNER/COMPANY/LOCATION:
Los Ballesteros was established in the family’s home town of Iguala in 1937 by Jalil Majul Ballesteros who came from a long line of well-known silversmith artisans. In 1941, during a rebirth of the Mexican craft of silver, Jalil moved the family jewelry business to the colonial mining city of Taxco where it grew to become a large manufacturer and retailer of fine Mexican jewelry. Its jewelry tradition, unique designs, and exceptional craftsmanship have made Talleres de los Ballesteros a national reference among silver jewelry brands in Mexico and it has received international recognition for its designs. In the past as well as today, each piece is hand wrought by its Artisans who are truly gifted in making Silver come to life.
