Vintage Silver Mexican Wedding 80" Necklace Chain Silver Balls Filigree, Plain
No manufacturer's nor silver contents marks. I don't know what it is made of - possibly silverplate - nickel silver - or ?  I polished one plain ball and it did shine up.
Looks all hand made. Rather primitive.  I don't see any wear to the silver as far as coming off and exposing another metal.
Weighs 145 grams.
As I understand, from my research, this type of necklace was worn around the Mexican bride and groom to indicate as one, for the ceremony.  Of course it is usable for a double or even triple wrap necklace.  Does not come apart - one continuous necklace.
It hasn't been tested and I have not tried to clean it.
Balls are hollow.  Looks hand made to me because there are variations in the filigree and in the connectors.
